The Lace Cybercaster is one weird beast, in both its helical-neck high-end build and its import variety. This is the latter, but sports plenty of oddness.
The body shape is exactly what one might expect from something called a Cybercaster. Or maybe it isn’t. Either way it is a strange shape that isn’t reminiscent of anything particular while being reminiscent of everything at once just a little bit. This one is finished in a handsome walnut stain.
The bolt-on neck – which the strange body shape allows full access to – is a comfortable carve and is scaled like a Fender, with a rosewood fingerboard and 6-in-line tuners on a strange half-moon-esque headstock. The bridge is a Fender-style thru-body affair with individual saddlepieces.
Electronics-wise this is equipped with a volume, tone, and 3-way switch controlling a pair of ‘Powered By Lace’ humbuckers. There is a small chip out of the finish near the back of the bottom of the body, but otherwise this instrument is set up with 10s and in very good, clean shape.
