The California series of Fender acoustics are a modern budget take on throwback styling. This Sonoran is a dreadnought body with a Strat-style headstock, and it looks pretty cool.
This guitar sports a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The neck is a handsome maple affair with a rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. The top and back are bound, and and the rosette is understated with a classic flair.
The bridge is done up, but not too much, and carries a compensated bone saddle. Likewise, the nut is also bone and is cut for low, easy action. The in-line tuners work as intended, and the frets sport almost no wear. The whole ensemble is pulled together with a classy gold pickguard.
