Aria is a wonderful Japanese company that made wonderful Japanese guitars for wonderfully low price-points. oftentimes their models copied well-known instruments made by other manufacturers, while other times they simply made good instruments in class – always at a good price.
This instrument was made in the early ’70s and oozes that vibe and character. There are some long cracks in the finish that do not go through to the top, which is still very much solid. The rosette is a standard – if understated – affair.
The headstock has been cracked at some point, but was repaired functionally, and the original tuning machines work as intended. At some point a strap button was installed, but that is no longer in place. Everything else seems to be in factory arrangement.
The lush, warm sound and low asking price make this a great way to own a great vintage player.
